Polk unemployment rate jumps to 5.7 percent

The 5.7 percent figure — representing 16,025 jobless Polk residents out of a labor force of 280,657 — is 0.9 percentage points higher than Polk’s 4.8 unemployment rate in May, which reflected 13,582 jobless residents in the county out of a similarly sized labor force of 280,769.
